Sri Lanka still enjoys the old English culture. Cricket, black dark tea and Afternoon Tea are still the order of the day. And what is more English than shortbread with tea. That is why we have developed a delicious recipe, shortbread with Traditional Earl Grey. A delicious combination in which the taste of the pure Bergamot oil comes out well and the soft tanines of the black tea go perfectly with the taste of real, classic English shortbread.

Preparation: Beat the butter together with the sugar until it forms a soft and creamy whole. Mix the flour, the pinch of salt and the tea to the sugar and the butter and knead by hand into a cohesive dough. Make a roll of the dough with a diameter of approximately 8 to 10 centimeters and wrap it tightly in the plastic foil. Put the rolling pin in the fridge for 1 hour to rest. After resting the dough, preheat the oven to 150 ° C and take the dough from the refrigerator. With a sharp knife, cut slices of dough of about 1 centimeter and place them on a baking sheet with baking paper. Meanwhile, beat the egg and cover the cookies with the egg so that they get a nice shine. Bake the cookies for 15 to 20 minutes.
