Glühwein

What could be better than drinking gluhwein on those cold days in winter? Gluhwein made with tea of course! Try this special recipe now and enjoy the delicious herbs that will fill your house.

Ingredients

  • I litre of dry red wine
  • 0,5 litres Traditional Earl Grey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 nutmeg dumpling
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 orange
  • A dash of vieux or cognac

Instructions

  1. First boil half a litre Traditional Earl Grey tea and then add the cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg and let it steep for 15 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea, add the sugar and stir well so that it dissolves well.
  3. Now add the wine, the vieux (or cognac) and the orange slices and bring it to boil slowly. Do NOT let it boil!
  4. Pour the mulled wine into a tea glass, garnish with an orange slice and cinnamon stick if necessary.
  5. Do not drink the gluhwein too hot.
