Chai panna cotta with orange and pistachio

Panna cotta, a delicious dessert that does not fall too heavily on the stomach. This is an ideal recipe for special occasions or just for yourself. The spiciness of the chai fits perfectly with the pistachio and the freshness of the orange. Make this recipe a day in advance, or in the morning and enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • 2 bags of Original Black Spice Chai
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 400 ml vegetable milk
  • 125 ml vegetable cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • A piece of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom(powder)
  • 3-4 grams agar agar
  • A handful of unsalted pistachios

Instructions

  1. Boil water and put 100 ml of water in a tea glass. Add the two bags of Original Black Spice Chai and the cardamom. Cut the ginger into pieces and add. Let is steep for about 20-30 minutes.
  2. Sift the cardamom, ginger and tea bags from the chai mixture and put in a saucepan.
  3. Add the vegetable milk, cream and agar agar and bring to a boil.
  4. Let it boil for about 2 minutes (let it bubble vigorously) and then remove the pan from the heat. Immediately add the honey and vanilla extract and stir well with a whisk. Grate the zest of half an orange. Let cool to room temperature.
  5. When the mixture has cooled slightly, divide it over 4 cups or glasses. Put these in the fridge. The panna cotta needs 4 hours to set.
  6. When the panna cotta has set, cut the pistachios small and divide them over the four panna cottas. Grate the other half of the orange and divide the zest over the four glasses.
  7. Place in the refrigerator and take them out 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
